Biz Technology Solutions provides cost effective technical solutions for the healthcare community that are designed to lower cost of business, enhance patient care, and increase revenue.

We are a non-vendor specific company so our advise is non-biased and is designed to maximize your gain!  we offer services from the selection of the technology to customization, deployment and training.   Following are some key technologies that can significantly streamline your business:

Electronic Signature for paperless office

DigitalPen
solution will enhance your software application by providing a unique advanced electronic signature capability to your system.   This will allow your users both patients and physicians to sign electronically.

DigitalPen  provides for an individual’s “wet” signature to be captured as a uniquely authenticated, biometric (image, pen pressure, pen velocity) “electronic” signature for use in electronic document transmission, storage and hardcopy printing.  The signer’s original signature is automatically embedded into the document or record at the document’s origination site.

DigitalPen  main advantages:

  • Cost saving – Save on paper, ink, time to print, sign and store the document.
  • Process enhancement – no need for printing signing documents electronically.
  • Security – advanced biometric and hashing capabilities.
  • Compliancy- HIPAA and FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliant.

Any DigitalPen  document’s signature can be verified against the signer’s pre-enrolled signature, when the signed electronic document is linked by LAN or WAN to the client’s DigitalPen  server application. DigitalPen is compliant with the FDA’s 21CFR11 ruling for electronic signatures.

Office Patient Kiosk

General:  Once upon a time in your office, new patients would fill out several detailed forms by hand.  Once finished they would hand their often illegible forms to your employee who would begin the arduous task of manually entering the information into your system.  Paper was wasted, errors in data entry were made, and inefficiency reigned.  Now all that has changed.  With your new patient kiosk, patients enter their own information safely and securely into your practice management system.

Practice Management Systems:  Currently, the Patient Kiosk interfaces with AltaPoint Practice Management 6.0, Medisoft Patient Accounting Version 9/10, and Lytec Medical 2005.  We are aggressively pursuing relationships with other medical software vendors in order to add connectivity with other practice management and EMR systems, so please check the Patient Kiosk website often to see the list of systems we work with expand

Privacy and Financial Statements:  Knowing that each medical office may have its own unique Privacy and Financial Statements, we included generic versions of both forms.  More importantly, we also provided each office with the ability to scan in their own Privacy and Financial Statements that patients can click to accept them.

WEB KIOSK
General:  Using the Web Kiosk, your patients can now fill out your office waiting room forms on-line, and at their own convenience, prior to coming into your office. In-office wait time is dramatically reduced, data entry errors are minimized, and "efficiency" is your new middle name.

Paperless Office through Digital Imaging

A medical practice should be all about clinical care, but today the practice of medicine encompasses some of the most arcane workflow imaginable, most of it imposed from the outside; payors, regulators, lawyers, hospitals etc. For years technology has offered the promise of a paperless practice, yet after constant investment in IT, the average practice has more paper, and more personnel dedicated to the care and feeding of paper than ever before. Why?

Most physicians need solutions that streamline their business
processes instead of reengineering their clinical practices!

Paper is an excellent place to start, because paper remains as the cross enterprise medium of choice for all of healthcare. Even the most advanced medical operations are still awash with EOBs, consent forms, and legacy charts. Electronic medical records manage clinical work flow but they do not eliminate paper. EMR scanning solutions are cumbersome and error prone. They require multiple clicks and trained personnel who are adept at using the….EMR.

Imaging  application servers respond directly to the simple yet fundamental business problems that are faced by most private practices.

• The Chart is not in the same office as the patient.
• The insurance company wants additional paperwork attached to each claim.
• Old patient, return visit, chart is in a warehouse.
• Need to pay $ 12 K for new filing cabinets; and what about a flood or fire?
• Numerous inbound faxes each day need to be in the right charts.
• Fed X-ing charts between offices.
• Weekend patient emergency: need to drop by the office to pick up a chart.
• Are my charts secure and HIPPA compliant?
• Landlord raising our rent, 40% of the office is dedicated to paper.

Imaging systems offers affordable, easy to deploy technology that combines software and hardware into one tightly integrated appliance. An ATM-like user experience requires no training and makes the difficult task of scanning paper a much more practical endeavor. Scanning and indexing of medical records, clinical forms, EOBs and other paper based documents as well as patient ID’s, drivers’ licenses, insurance cards etc. Documents are scanned, indexed, converted to PDF, compressed and then securely placed in the
backend database next to the patient’s record.

Imaging systems  integrates with existing practice management systems via HL7/SQL/CSV. Scanning and indexing is driven via a touchscreen or PC display through a few simple commands. Patient information is pulled directly from the practice management system and presented on the Certify screen. Digitized charts are easily accessed via the same simple U/I using Certify’s secure, file-retrieve, view and print software. Digital ID cards can also be viewed from any networked PC. Administration features include login, password protection and custom setup of electronic indexing tabs. Certify’s secure and scalable databases include a host of automated self monitoring features to assure the integrity of clinical information, so that a physician can sleep easily without paper records.

• Remote data integrity monitoring.
• Automated scanned image corruption checks
• One touch disaster recovery protocols
• Total system redundancy and recovery built in.

Electronic Medical Records are for really bright people. ………….and really bright people don’t like to scan paper.

What if there were a simple paper “onramp” to E-Charts, EMR’s, and other document management or enterprise systems? It would have to be accurate with impeccable forms processing capabilities. It would integrate seamlessly with any front end or backend system regardless of configuration. It would require only two to three simple commands. It would replicate the selected EMR’s workflow at the point of service. It would capture billing documents and place them inside the billing application. It would capture clinical documents and place them directly in the patient’s folder within the EMR…..all automatically, based on document type.

It could be used by anybody, part time staff, people not ordinarily trained on enterprise systems, casual users, disinterested users, even MDs themselves. It could be deployed using the distributed “footprint” of digital scanners and multi-function devices. It would include HL7 communications and HIPAA sensitive features. It could work with small or large batches of documents and be able to utilize bar-coding and OCR-ing technologies. Finally, it would be incredibly easy to deploy and maintain with integrated hardware and software, a simple, affordable network device that required no specialized IT support.

Automated Transcription

For years healthcare organizations have reaped the benefits of using electronic medical record systems (EMRs). The only drawback was that records needed to be created manually. That problem was solved by outsourcing the creation to transcriptionists. Unfortunately transcription is a slow and costly process that negated any savings of implementing an EMR system. Today healthcare organizations spend too much time and money on manual transcription services. On average, a single physician spends upwards of $25,000 per year to digitize patient information. Patients, insurance companies and the government are more demanding, particularly with respect to the completion and turnaround of information from patient encounters. Voice Recognition Software Medical Solutions provide an affordable way to automate the medical information collection process while significantly reducing administrative overhead, increasing productivity and providing better patient care.

Numerous healthcare industry studies have verified the benefits of using modern speech recognition software. Thousands of physicians already successfully use speech recognition to document their patient encounters. Voice Recognition Software enable medical professionals to create electronic medical records, patient notes, and fax or email referral letters by voice at speeds of up to 160 words per minute with accuracy rates as high as 99%. Speech enabling the creation of your electronic medical records offers the best of both worlds - speech recognition allows you to dictate into an automated patient record creation system that is HIPAA compliant; EMR systems help healthcare professionals process medical information more efficiently, reduce errors, decrease costs and provide a higher level of care.

The software includes 14 pre-made specialty vocabularies including 250,000 medical terms and more than 160,000 active words, such as medication names, medical procedures, diagnoses, diseases and more. It is easy to add new terms and create or import custom vocabularies for different specialties or interests. In just a few minutes you can begin dictating directly into Windows®-based applications. Create simple voice commands that perform complex, multi-step tasks with a single word or phrase. Instantly create custom dictionaries specially designed for the unique words you use. Dictate using array microphones and wireless headsets, eliminating the need to be wired directly to your PC. Be productive on-the-go by importing recordings from a handheld device for automatic transcription when you synch with your PC. Using Voice Recognition Software makes it easier for healthcare professionals to adopt the use of electronic medical record applications as part of their daily routine.

Patient Calling System

Time is precious and patients really appreciate reminders, whether for an appointment or to let them know it’s time for an important checkup. But routine phone calls overload office staff and take valuable time away from patient care in the office. Friendly and interactive, a calling system handles your routine patient communications effectively and conveniently.

  • Appointment reminders
  • Checkup/follow-up reminders
  • Medication reminders
  • New patient information
  • Safety & recall alerts
  • Important health news
  • Community outreach
  • Past-due notification
  • Inclement weather closings
  • Patient opinion surveys
  • Birthday greetings

...or any messages you desire!

Prevents Appointments No-Show
Missed appointments disrupt your schedule and cost thousands of dollars each
year. Patients who receive a telephone reminder are far more likely to make their
appointment or notify you if they need to reschedule, allowing you to schedule
other patients. A calling system calls patients with friendly appointment reminders
and important information. Patients appreciate the service and you appreciate
the control over your daily schedule.

Provide Consistent Communication
A calling System handles routine calls with consistency and diligence. By keeping
track of calls that are busy or unanswered, A calling System won’t forget to try
back later. A calling System works after hours when more people are home to
receive your call. A calling System doesn’t get distracted by other tasks, so you can
rest assured that all your calls are made. Plus, instant detailed reports give you
a valuable audit trail of patient contact.

Ease Staff Overload
Reaching patients during business hours is not an easy task. Calling during the
day ties up phone lines and is often interrupted. Messages left for patients at
work may get misdirected or forgotten. Sending postcards is expensive and far
less effective than phone calls. A calling System takes only minutes to activate,
wakes up automatically when it’s time to call (even over weekends) and tries
back until everyone is contacted or the call session is over.

Improve Patient Care
Patients expect prompt, personal attention while they are in the office. With
A calling System handling your routine calls, you’ll have more quality time to
offer your patients. With control over your schedule, patients will spend less
time waiting and more time with their healthcare providers. People appreciate
timely reminders about important health checkups and follow-up appointments.
ReminderPro’s friendly, interactive communications show patients that you
care about them.

Enterprise - 101 Messaging Software is a Microsoft Windows application that
enables you to send messages directly to on-site pagers via a local transmitter.

The Power of Messaging
It is estimated that up to 85% of business communications can be conducted one
way. By utilizing messaging technology, clear and concise information may be
relayed to staff whilst they are on the move.

Group Management
It is often a requirement to notify more than one person at the same time. A typical
example of this would be a fire alarm where several people need to be informed
simultaneously. Adding members to a group is as simple as a button click.

Scheduled Messages
Enterprise – 101 Client Software allows users to schedule messages to be sent at
any time and date. Every message sent to a pager can be stamped with the time and
date. Messages can be sent to pagers while the original sender is off the premises.
Combined with the traditional ‘manual paging facility’, Enterprise – 101 Software
provides a comprehensive reminder message system.
